In Pursuit
What if…

What if we took prayer seriously?

What if we actually took time out of our day in order to speak to God? Not just as a prerequisite to a meal.

But what if we use our meal as a time and occasion for prayer? I mean: what if while eating Chinese food, we remember the persecuted church in China, and pray for their continued faith? What if while we eat Mexican food, we remember the constant strife there, and pray for at least safety for people, and then for missionaries as well? What if every time we drank coffee from Guatemala (as I am now), we pray for Guatemala and the end of nominal Christianity and the overwhelming reality of sold-out disciples of Christ?

Reasons for prayer surround us every minute of every day… and when we stand before God, are we going to be mumbling to ourselves, “Man… I wish I would have spent more time on Tumblr, Twitter, and Facebook, and watched my favorite show __________ , just one more time!” Or are we going to be overcome, and pray to God then, “Lord, forgive me for being distracted by things which were not advancing your kingdom!”

Whom do you love?

Could they use some grace from the all-powerful God today?

Then pray.
